Phu Quoc; 19-21 Septemer 2007

What an island! Tear shaped, a lush vegetation, white sandy beaches, pepper plantations, a big fish processing plant and some hotels... but a lot of space to get lost in maybe one of the last (not for long possibly) forgotten heavens! This is Phu Quoc from a very kind and a bit Lonely Planned perspective. In reality its hotels are coming up quite quickly and not always seems according to environmental regulations. Understandable but a pity, indeed. It seems that good money is being funneled into resorts, one after the other, along a beautiful coast. Still longsighted people have realised that the potential lays on the island's nature; back to nature should be the key. Utilise natural material and experience the most basic of all stays!
Beware of the rainy season as it can flush for days and days; I liked it as it was something different from the usual sunbathing session... Definetely a must see place for who wants something out of the path; very local and very much to be seen now, and for who wants a good spot to invest into a special resort this island might still be the good one!http://www.phuquoc.info/
